Did you know that a Bahamian Pet Permit is required when bringing your cat or dog to The Bahamas? If you’ve ever considered bringing your canine or feline companion along to paradise, we have all the information needed to make sure it’s smooth sailing straight to the sand from you and your furry friend!
An import permit is required for the import of dogs and cats and must accompany the animal at the time of import. All conditions listed on the Bahamian pet permit must be satisfied or the animal may be refused entry. Currently, the application processing fee for a dog or cat is US $10.00 plus 12% VAT bringing the total cost to $11.20. A veterinary health certificate is required at the time of import which should include certification that the animal is healthy, has an active immunity against rabies and satisfies all other health requirements.
